It's the last week before our Fall break mates. Let's make it count and give it our all! Here are your reminders for the week:
- Math Test on chp. 2 on Monday, September 13th. All students were asked several times last week to bring home their math textbook, or to use the electronic textbook to help prepare for the test. Students can also practice by using the website links on the blog this week.
- Spelling test on Tuesday, September 14th. Again, students were asked to bring home their spelling notebooks to help study the word list.
- We will be changing back to Social Studies this week. We are starting a new unit on economics. We'll begin the unit with vocabulary and will create a flipbook in our social studies spiral notebooks. Students can use this flipbook to help prepare for a short vocabulary quiz on Friday.
- It is time for another reading/math log check on Friday, September 17th. By now students should have around 570 pages on their reading logs, and should have taken 5 more math times tests to record on the math log.
- We will have a GUMS (grammar, usage and mechanics) Section 1 test on Friday. The material covered includes subjects and predicates, compound, complex and simple sentences, and complete sentences and fragments. We have been working on this material in grammar since school began this year. Students may take home their GUMS book to review pages that we've done together, or any extra blank pages to help practice.
I hope that you all have a safe, and relaxing Fall Break!
