Dear Mates and Families,
Wow, wow, wow! I can't thank you enough again for all your hard work with Boosterthon. Our class received $203.35 directly from your contributions. Amazing! We can't wait to spend this money on novels, learning games and other classroom supplies! Also, a big THANK YOU for those parents who have already contributed to our classroom basket for the Pancake Breakfast. If you haven't sent in your contributions yet, there's still time! Send in your student next week with your donations. Thank you!
Upcoming class/schoolwide events:
1. Family Fun Night-- tonight, 10/15/10 from 5-8 p.m. Come join your friends and teachers for face painting, games, a cakewalk and much more!
2. Red Ribbon Week is coming up the week of 10/18/10-10/22/10. Be sure to wear red on Friday, 10/22/10.
3. Since we have officially started the new 9 week period this week, your child will receive a new conduct sheet for the 2nd 9 weeks. Weekly papers will still go home as usual and the signed conduct sheet (now a blue sheet) will still be due on Wednesdays. All students also received a new reading and math log last Friday to begin the new grading period. Students have set new 9 week A.R. goals, which are recorded as usual at the top of the conduct sheet to help keep track.
4. Please continue working on the Native American shoebox diorama and ABC chart. Students were given a large sheet of construction paper this week for their ABC chart, but also have the option of using a half sheet of poster board if they prefer (poster board must be student supplied). Tribe projects are due 10/26/10 (a Tuesday).
5. Next week--early release week for conferences. Students will be dismissed at 12:20 daily. Parents, please knock on the door at your designated conference time to help keep everyone on schedule. Thank you!
