Ahoy, mates! Isn't it wonderful to smell the fresh fall air? It's hard to believe that it is already the end of summer and that we've moved into fall! As we end the 9 week period this week, here are your reminders:
- Wordly Wise test on Lesson 2 this Tuesday. Be sure to study your Wordly Wise book as well as picture cards.
- Math Chp. 7 test on Friday. Use your math book or the electronic textbook to help study. This test will cover word problems, using estimation to multiply (ex: 68 x 5 can round to 70 x 5), and solving simple 2 digit by 1 digit problems (ex: 34 x 3). Make sure that your study, study, study.
- Since it is the end of the 9 weeks, please bring in your final reading/math logs by Friday. Also, plan on earning any last minute A.R. points towards your goal. Don't forget to test on any class novels and read alouds.
- Conference letters come home this week---please return yours as soon as possible. There will be a checkbook incentive involved!!!!
- Our class auction is Friday. Right now, we are very low on donations so please, please, please clean out your closets and rooms at home if you are able. Thank you for your generosity!
- We are beginning a new unit on Native Americans in Social Studies this week. We will work on it until Thursday, the day that you begin the 2 1/2 week unit with Mrs. Greeson for Science. We'll continue the unit after the 2 1/2 weeks. A project will be assigned this week and will come home Tuesday. You will have plenty of time to begin working on it, but please don't wait until the last minute. Use your time wisely!
