Weekly Reminders for May 9, 2011

Here are your weekly reminders:

1.  Wordly Wise test on Tuesday 5/10/11.

2.  All library books are due to be turned in by 5/11/11. (Library must complete an inventory).

3.  Final reading logs/math logs due by Monday 5/16/11.

4.  Mold Madness projects for Mrs. Greeson are due on Thursday 5/12/11.  You will keep them in your book bag until science class that day.

5.  Ecosystem pyramid projects are due that Thursday as well.  You may work at home on this project, but Mrs. Greeson will also give you some class time this week to work.  Final assembly will be done in class together.

6.  Opening ceremonies for Field Day- on Wednesday, May 11th.  Please wear/bring your class shirt.  We will need to wear them only for opening ceremonies.  You may keep them at school for Friday if you like, or you may just bring them back.  Please put your name inside your class shirt (on the tag) so that if you leave it at school you will be able to find it.

7.  Field Day is Friday, May 13th.  You will need to wear athletic shoes (no Crocs or flip flops), sunscreen, appropriate clothing for the weather, and your class shirt.  Please bring a change of clothes and underwear/socks because you will get wet at some events. 

Homework for the week:

Monday- work on final reading/math logs (due 5/16/11); bring class shirt for opening ceremonies Wed., turn in all library books on Wednesday 5/11/11;  wordly wise test tomorrow, skilltracker homework

Tuesday-  work on final reading/math logs, work on science projects, bring class shirt for tomorrow (with name inside on the label), return all library books tomorrow

Wednesday- final reading/math logs due Monday 5/16/11, turn in Mold Madness project and Ecosystem pyramid tomorrow

Thursday- Field Day tomorrow- bring/wear class shirt and sunscreen/athletic shoes.  Bring a clean change of clothes, socks and underwear.  Final reading/math logs due Monday 5/16/11.

Class Reminders for May 2, 2011

One more month to go mates!  Let's keep going and finish out this year strong.  Remember, we still have lots of learning to do, so keep up good study and homework habits!  Here are your reminders for the week:

1.  Reading/math log is due on Friday May 6, 2011.  By this point you should have taken another 3 timed tests, and should have around 570 pages on your reading log.  There will be one final check on May 16, 2011 (a Monday to accommodate end of the year awards, etc.).  Your final logs are due on that date (with 850 pages total).

2.  Our Portfolio Showcase is Wednesday, May 4th.  Parents will either be attending before the recorder concert or immediately after.  The Portfolio showcase will be over by 9:00 a.m. that day. 

3.  Academic alerts will go out Tuesday, May 3rd for some students.  All students have previously received a progress update with current math goals and A.R. points.

4.  Looking ahead--- Field Day is coming up soon!  Please bring/wear your class shirt to opening ceremonies on May 11th (a Wednesday).  You may leave it at school if you like for actual Field Day (on Friday, May 13th).  For Field Day, please wear sunscreen and comfortable shoes (no Crocs or flip flops).  Please do not wear sunglasses that day because you will be active and they may fly off. 

5.  Beach Day is scheduled for Tuesday, May 24th.  You may bring a towel, wear sunscreen and sunglasses. 

6.  You will start a science unit with Mrs. Greeson beginning this week.

Homework for this week:

Monday- Math homework from textbook p.99; Reminder: Math test tomorrow on Chp. 3 and 4 (graphs).

Tuesday- Wordly Wise homework (the passage)

Wednesday- Wordly Wise test next Tuesday; work on reading/math log (due Friday)

Thursday- Science homework from Mrs. Greeson; Reading/math log due tomorrow; Wordly Wise test next Tuesday
