Second Graders to participate in citizen science project
Cornell University is currently collecting data on ladybugs and our second Graders are ready to help! The second graders are making ladybug catchers to collect ladybugs! Next week we will begin going outside to find ladybugs, identify ladybugs, photograph ladybugs and then send data to Cornell university. We are excited to see how many native species of ladybugs are here at SFE!
Fifth Graders Visited by Mrs. Riser
SFE fifth graders enjoyed learning about cell biology and structures from Mrs. Riser. The students then prepared slides of human check cells and plant cells. We then looked at pond water to see algae and many very cool micro organisms! Mrs. Riser has been here to visit our 5th graders the last 6 years and does such a terrific job. We hope that she continues her visits for years to come!

Congratulations to Jillian Kluth who took third place with her project Do You Have Good Taste? at Cobb Paulding Regional Science Fair! Jillian took First Place for fifth grade in the SFE Science fair for her fantastic project! WE are so proud of her!

Fifth Grade Experiences the Magic of Science
Fun with liquid nitrogen! Novelis brought magic if science to 5th grade foxes today. These experiments enhance our unit on physical and chemical changes!
Third Graders Excavate Fossils!
Third graders are wrapping up their unit on fossils this week! After spending a few weeks learning about different types of fossils .Last week we studying shark teeth fossils to see that shark teeth size can tell the length of a shark! This week students excavated fossils from plaster of paris and then were able to take imprints of fossils. We have many future paleontologists out there!
